My first rejection letter!
First of all- can I just say how shocked I am that a top-level editor at a very, very high-influence magazine personally wrote me a rejection letter?
Not shocked that I was rejected, I mean, it was a long shot. The application was for an internship that called for receiving college credit. I know, sadface. However, a personally tailored e-mail from said top editor nearly floored me. I wonder if I would be a bother for following up with potential other job leads? It’s such a fine line between desperate and zealous that I’m tempted to dip into!
In other news.. my mom, seeing my current labor bear no fruits, has been encouraging me to make the move to NYC. Recent e-mail correspondence with a Glamour freelancer/blogger extraordinaire has convinced me a little more (to be explanded on later!). Sent out a few e-mails to some people I graduated with for any insight/future roommates. Could this finally be a reality?
It’s creepy, but it’s a move I’ve been wanting to make since, oh, I don’t know.. 8th grade? That’s a long time for a dream;D
